Smashball welcomes community mappers who want to build their own altars to death and destruction! The Mapping Guide is broken up into these parts:

  • Map Design. This part talks about the layout and style recommendations for Smashball maps. Read this to understand what makes a good Smashball map.
  • Mapping Entity Reference. This covers all the Smashball entities in detail. You may want to refer to this while you're working on your map.

Getting Started

Mapping for Smashball requires Hammer, the level editor for Half-Life 2. It is distributed for free by Valve through Steam. Please refer to the [Valve Developer Wiki] if you need help.There are also many alternatives a quick search on the google or your favourite search engine like the ask or the yahoo this will bring up many tutorials if you prefer video or audio tutorial youtube has tons from a simple map to advanced features such as displacment.

Your game directory contains the smashball.fgd in the \resource directory. It has entries for all the entities you'll need.
